Hi there, I'm Jennifer! I inherited my mother’s camera at the tender age of eight. Every strip of 35 millimeter, every digital snapshot since, has been focused on exposing the unique truth and beauty in her subjects. Growing up in the heartland of the country, I was instilled with rural values and developed an appreciation for the value of everyday people and everyday places. I love the versatility of photography as an art form: “It can be simply creative, capture a unique moment in time, or tell a story without words! From people to nature, from architecture to the abstract, I am grateful for the opportunity to view the world around me through the mind's eye and the lens of my camera.”
My love of street photography and editorial work has propelled her to a career beyond staged family portraits. I gave up studios with four walls, and adopted the world as my studio instead. From the affluent urban downtown scene, rodeos, carnivals to homeless shelters, I have stayed true to her mission to portrait her subjects with compassion and love. I have been featured as the Smithsonian Artist of the Week, she has worked with the HOPE outreach center which received her recognition with National Geographic for a piece on Hunger in the world. My goal is to continue to propel my art into a direction that connects with people on a personal level and to teach my daughters that life is not lived behind a desk but out in the world exploring, learning and emersion into ones surroundings.
Grab a cup of coffee take your shoes off and enjoy the world as I see it.
